Cost of Government Day is Finally Here

Today is the day that the average American taxpayer finally finished working to pay for the cost of government spending and regulations and starts working for himself.

Every year ATR releases its Cost of Government Day index and according to this year's report, Americans must work a full 192 days out of 2007 just to pay for their share of the cost of government. That's 2 days longer than last year's revised date of July 9th and exactly 192 days too long for this taxpayer.

Check back here throughout the day for more cool COGD charts and updates!
